St. Mark’s Day Thanksgiving Service
The St. Mark’s Day Thanksgiving Service was held on 25th April 2019. This was a special day for all St. Markans. Teachers, students and friends of St. Mark’s gathered at St. John’s Cathedral. We sang hymns and said prayers to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of our school.
The Very Revd. Matthias C. DER, Dean of St. John’s Cathedral, reminded us in his sermon that the blessings from God are innumerable. In the past, we shared a building with another school. Later, St. Mark’s School was given a site on which to build our own school campus. In 2001, St. Mark’s was given the present site and so we have better facilities in our school. St. Mark’s is also very blessed because old boys and girls are ready and willing to serve the school. The Very Revd. DER also reminded us that the school was set up in the eastern area of Hong Kong Island in order to provide education opportunities for the people in that area. We should not forget that serving our society whole-heartedly is our responsibility.
